Do you like to doodle? Mindlessly draw while listening to others talk or maybe in a class with nothing else better to do? Recently I started drawing and painting (doodling) on tumblers while in meetings. It's so therapeutic. Sometimes I'm not even sure what the end result will be. Sometimes it takes days to complete, other times it's so magical that it must be finished before anything else is started. (Some days I need alot of therapy)
So it's weird to me that suddenly I love to paint. This hobby never occured to me before. I'm thinking maybe it's the spirit of my Mammaw. She passed 2 years ago and she loved to paint.
When I saw the stanley cups on Pinterest and Etsy with sublimation print on them, I thought, hey I'll just use Tumblers as my canvas. So I started doodling and one thing led to another. Initially I used the Acrylic markers because it was easier to draw. Then I purchased a paint set and brushes to paint over the markers. They gave me the base and the paint makes it pop. To ensure it doesn't chip or come off when washing, I spray a finishing acrylic clear coat over the design. I've tested this out on several cups that I've made for myself and this stuff WORKS. I put the cups in the dishwasher all the time and they still look good as new.
